The date has been set for the sex assault trial against Hedley singer Jacob Hoggard.

Today it was revealed the trial would start next month on September 27. As previously reported, Hoggard has pleaded not guilty to various sexual assault charges, including two counts of sexual assault causing bodily harm and one count of sexual interference.

Hoggard was arrested last summer after multiple claims of sexual misconduct were levelled against him.

Three separate incidents allegedly occurred in the Toronto area in 2016, involving a woman and a girl under the age of 16. The names of the alleged victims have not been released and are protected under a publication ban.

Last month, Hoggard requested that the case be tried by a jury after crown ruled there was a strong enough case against him to go to trial.

In the wake of the allegations against the singer, Hedley have since gone on indefinite hiatus
