The annual Prism Prize — awarded to Canadian music videos recognized for their visual excellence — is one step closer to unveiling its 2021 winner. Today, Prism has whittled its 20 nominees down to the Top 10.
Among the remaining nominees are Andy Shauf, Clairmont The Second, Haviah Mighty, Lido Pimienta, Mustafa, Rich Aucoin, Savannah Ré, Sean Leon, TOBi and Witch Prophet. See the full list and credits below.
The grand Prism Prize will be awarded through a virtual ceremony on July 26 at 8 p.m. ET, and the winner(s) will be awarded $20,000. All other shortlisters will receive a $1,000 prize, courtesy of Slaight Music.
Additionally, all of the nominees are eligible to win the 2021 Audience Award. Voting for that award is open now through to June 23 at the Prism website.
"The music videos in this year's Prism Prize Top 10 represent the magic that can be borne out of raw and vulnerable artistic collaboration," Prism Prize founder Louis Calabro said in a release. "We are honoured to bring well-deserved recognition to these artists."
Previously Prism Prize winners include Peter Huang for Jessie Reyez's "Far Away" and Fantavious Fritz for Charlotte Day Wilson's "Work."
