Hear the Week's Best New Canadian Music: Tennyson, Kaytranada, Alice Glass

BY Exclaim! StaffPublished Nov 19, 2021

To quote David Lynch, "It's a Friday once again." Can you believe it?

And you know Friday means new music, including our humble weekly round-up of what are — in our not-so-humble opinion — the best new Canadian releases.

In a nutshell: Tennyson has the catchiest "Iron" deficiency we've ever experienced and Kaytranada is "Intimidated" by H.E.R. (and who wouldn't be?), meanwhile, Alice Glass plays tooth fairy by collecting "BABY TEETH."

It's Adele's week and we're all just living in it, but we've also had some other pretty major releases — like Loviet's 777 and Dan Mangan's 10th anniversary Oh Fortune reissue. Tanya Tagaq also doubled down with two versions of new single "Colonizer."

It really does take a village, and Canadian artists are feeling mighty collaborative this time around: Rezz teams up with Metric, Field Guide gets Dizzy for a cover of a Coldplay classic and Beatrice Deer braves "THE STORM" with members of Besnard Lakes, SUUNS and Land of Talk. Basia Bulat has also shared a new Owen Pallett arrangement of "The Garden."

As per, we've got all of this and so much more in store with The Eh! List below, presented by Mary Brown's Chicken & Taters — all Canadian and proud of it!
