Musically inclined L.A. skater boy Hanni El Khatib has a new album called Head in the Dirt due out on April 30 through Innovative Leisure. Now, he's unveiled a new album track with "Penny."
Head in the Dirt was produced by the Black Keys' Dan Auerbach, and you'll hear his sonic stamp on this bouncy pop rock tune.
El Khatib said in a press release, "The bass line for 'Penny' was this thing I'd play bored at soundcheck forever, and eventually tried to turn it into a song. It was also the first track that we recorded for the new album. For whatever reason, we managed to record all the live parts in one take and the rest fell into place soon after. It definitely set the tone for the rest of the recordings."
