Halsey Slams Iggy Azalea's "Complete Disregard for Black Culture"

She also defended her collaboration with Migos rapper Quavo, who recently had to apologize for homophobic remarks

Halsey recently dropped her second album hopeless fountain kingdom and is set to take it on tour this fall with PARTYNEXTDOOR and Charli XCX — but don't expect to see her teaming up with Iggy Azalea any time soon.

In a new interview with the Guardian, the 22-year-old singer called the Australian rapper a "fucking moron," claiming that she has "a complete disregard for black culture."

Apparently a firm believer in karma being a bitch, Halsey continued, "I watched her career dissolve and it fascinated me."

She went on to emphatically declare that Azalea is on a long list of people that "I wouldn't put on my record."

Migos rapper Quavo, however, did make Halsey's list of approved collaborators. He appears on hopeless fountain kingdom cut "Lie," despite coming under fire earlier this year for homophobic remarks and a less than heartfelt apology.

"I think he's misunderstood," she said. "Just because I choose to be a socially conscious artist, and I'm pretty good at it, that doesn't mean every artist is going to be equipped to be politically correct. I don't think he's inherently homophobic, I think he's in a tough place of trying to explain what he means. I agree his apology was bullshit but I can't police everybody."

Halsey herself identifies as bisexual, and has since taken to Twitter to further clarify her working relationship with Quavo. Read the recent string of tweets below.
