With three years passed since HAIM released their debut, and not a scrap of new music to whet appetites, many may have wondered if Alana, Danielle and Este would ever be able to top the highs of Days Are Gone.

Bounding onto the festival's main stage, they quickly made the case that whatever they've been up to, they still know how to put on a good rock show. Opening with "If I Could Change Your Mind," the trio, augmented by a drummer and keyboard player, quickly whipped the crowd into a frenzy.

"I fucking love you Ontario," screamed Este (who wore a red "party jumpsuit" that she proudly showed off to the crowd) during "Don't Save Me." She took lead on a cover "I Would Die 4 U" by Prince, who the bass player described as "my idol."

Though the bulk of the set was from Days Are Gone — not to mention a closing three-way drum solo — they did offer two new tracks: "Give Me Just a Little of Your Love" was led by a simple, staccato keyboard line, while "Nothing's Wrong" was a great midtempo '80s track that climaxed with an epic solo from Danielle. Punctuating both were the sisters' intertwining vocals (though they were displayed most prominently on "Falling").

If the new tracks were any indication of what's to come, prospects for the new record are extremely promising.
