Grimes Says AI Could Lead to Communism

"Because, let's be real, enforced farming is really not a vibe"

Grimes' enthusiasm for artificial intelligence has frequently caused controversy, and she's even been called "the voice of silicon fascist privilege." Now, Claire Boucher has a new take on the subject — she's saying AI could actually lead humanity to a communist-like state of wealth distribution.

How so? In a TikTok video posted last night, Grimes claimed AI, "if implemented correctly," could allow humans to automate farming and uncover systemic corruption, leading us to a state of equality where no one has to work and everyone is provided for.

Here's her hot take:

I have a proposition for the communists. So, typically, most of the communists I know are not big fans of AI. But, if you think about it, AI is actually the fastest path to communism. So, if implemented correctly, AI could actually theoretically solve for abundance. Like, we could totally get to a situation where nobody has to work, everybody is provided for with a comparable state of being, comfortable living. AI could automate all the farming, weed out systematic corruption, thereby bring us to, as close as possible to genuine equality. So basically, everything that everybody loves about communism, but without the collective farm. Because, let's be real, enforced farming is really not a vibe.

She kind of glosses over her caveat that AI would have to be "implemented correctly," but this could prove to be a pretty major stumbling block for her vision of utopia. We're no historians, but when has automating jobs and removing the need for labourers ever led to more wealth distribution?
