The tributes for the late David Bowie keep coming, with Afghan Whigs singer Greg Dulli now honouring the late pop star with a cover of one of his biggest hits. Dulli's stripped-down version of Let's Dance opener "Modern Love" is streaming now.
While the original was a soul-smacked piece of existential pop positively doused in horns and jumped-up backbeats, Dulli dials down the arrangement to the strum of an acoustic guitar, the gentle bow of a violin and his smokey croon.
"I tried to record this song with the Whigs a while back and we just couldn't get it the way I wanted it," Dulli explained in a statement. "With his passing last week, I was reminded of it and decided to finish it myself. The world is filled with love for David Bowie right now. It feels good. I feel inspired by his life."
Dulli has made the song available to download in a widget. You can stream or nab the song via the player down below, where you'll also find Dulli's global tour schedule.
