Green Day have conquered the world of pop-punk twice: first with 1994's Dookie, and then a decade later with 2004's American Idiot. The former album got a 30th anniversary reissue last year, and now, the latter is getting a 20th anniversary reissue.
The massive box set will come out October 25. It's available in either 8LP or 4CD versions. Each includes two Blu-rays, plus new liner notes from producer Rob Cavallo and Rolling Stone's David Fricke.
The set comes with a pile of B-sides and bonus tracks, including previously released live recordings and outtakes. There are also lots of demos, plus a live recording from the day after the album was released in September 2004. As for the Blu-rays, they include the 2015 making-of doc Heart Like a Hand Grenade on the first disc. The second disc has the new 20 Years of American Idiot documentary, plus a live set.
The vinyl set includes a 36-page book, a Green Day flag, and the American Idiot red tie; the CD set comes with a 48-page book, enamel pin set, sticker sheet and cloth patch.
