'Grand Theft Auto V' Soundtrack Treated to New Box Set

BY Alex HudsonPublished Nov 3, 2014

Grand Theft Auto V's star-studded soundtrack has already received three digital compilation albums. Now, with Flying Lotus and others expanding their contributions for a reissue of the game, the soundtrack is set to receive a massive box set on CD and vinyl. The Music of Grand Theft Auto V will be out on December 9.

The set includes 59 songs, which are split across three CDs or six LPs. It seems that this is the same tracklist as the previously released digital bundle, since that also included 59 cuts. (In other words, don't count on that new FlyLo material appearing here.)

Volume 1 of The Music of Grand Theft Auto V includes original music from Flying Lotus, Wavves, Twin Shadow, Neon Indian, HEALTH, OFF!, Yeasayer, A$AP Rocky, Nite Jewel, and Tyler, the Creator. Volume 2 contains the score (written by Tangerine Dream, Woody Jackson, the Alchemist and Oh No, and mixed by DJ Shadow). Volume 3 is made up of previously released tracks from Bob Seger, Waylon Jennings, Jai Paul, Lee "Scratch" Perry, Bootsy Collins, Simple Minds and others.

See the tracklist for the digital version of The Music of Grand Theft Auto V below. Both the CD and vinyl versions come with a lithograph poster and a booklet. The CD set comes with a USB stick shaped like a gold brick. These sets will be produced in a limited run of 5,000.

Don't forget that GTA V's new version will come out on November 18 for Playstation 4 and Xbox One. The PC version follows on January 27.
