The Good Boys

"Single Malt Shop" (video)

Toronto-based three-piece the Good Boys are all about throwing it back to the golden years of AM radio, and they continue to prove those intentions in their latest clip for "Single Malt Shop."

We first heard from the band with their debut video "I'm Not Pretending," then got some festive cheer from them on "It's Christmas Time and I'm in Love with You." Well, the band — featuring former members of I Am Committing a Sin — are back with another ode to the good ol' days of "more Ed Sullivan than MTV."

The tune is a mopey, lovelorn, Motown-esque ballad, and the visuals follow suit. Featuring the down-and-out band members alone at the bar, with only cigarettes and single malts to keep them company, it shows off a sadder side to the nostalgia-driven trio.

"Single Malt Shop" will be getting the 7-inch single release treatment, accompanied by "Not What You Think" on the flipside. You can grab a copy of the new vinyl at the Good Boys' free March 31 show at Toronto's Smiling Buddha.
