Maryland grindcore monsters Full of Hell have announced their fifth studio album, Garden of Burning Apparition, which is due to arrive on October 1 through Relapse Records.

Produced by Seth Manchester at Machines with Magnets in Pawtucket, RI, Garden of Burning Apparitions is an examination of "the commodification and weaponization of faith and spirituality," according to frontperson Dylan Walker.

"This misdirection is a ploy for control and power," Walker added in a statement. "Whether through some profit-obsessed mega-church or via militaristic action, humanity is raked over the coals and bled out until there's nothing left but cinders and dust."

According to the band, the record is a genre-dissolving slurry of hardcore, grind and death metal that discovers new dimensions in Full of Hell's sound and songwriting.

"I think it's good that we tried not to pigeonhole ourselves early on," Walker said of the forthcoming record. "Because now, 10 years in, we have the opportunity to make whatever record we want, within reason, and people will follow along."

Along with the announcement, the band has released the record's punishing lead single "Industrial Messiah Complex." The brief, thrashing tune comes with an unnerving and minimalist video courtesy of Richard Rankin with Aimee Fiest and Alex Wynne.

Garden of Burning Apparition follows the group's monumental 2019 album Weeping Choir.
