Frank Ocean Teases July Release Date for 'Boys Don't Cry' with Cryptic Post

After first teasing its arrival for the summer of 2015, it's looking like Frank Ocean's long-promised Boys Don't Cry project could be coming out this month. At least, that's what a cryptic blog post from the velvet-voiced R&B singer seems to imply.

As previously reported, Ocean had first teased his third album in the spring of 2015, suggesting that both it and a magazine titled Boys Don't Cry would arrive that July. Now, a new post from the singer on the Boys Don't Cry website, which he hasn't touched since last year, pictures a library card stamped with all sorts of dates and the project title.

As you can see, it's a mostly chronological breakdown of dates, which run from last July to this month. Oddly, "Nov 13 2016" appears earlier on the slip, though it is covered up by "Nov 27 2015." The final listing is for this month, though the exact day is smudged out in red ink.

Whether or not Ocean will deliver the music or his magazine on time remains to be seen, but this seems promising.

While Ocean has not issued an LP of his own since 2012's Channel Orange, he did pop up on Kanye West's The Life of Pablo track "Wolves" earlier this year.
