Frank Ocean might be affiliated with Odd Future and appeared on Jay-Z and Kanye West's Watch the Throne, but the R&B crooner's Coachella set proved that the 24-year-old can command a crowd on his own. Flanked by a backing band that included Toronto trio Badbadnotgood, Ocean performed material from his well-received 2011 mixtape Nostalgia/Ultra, including fan favourites "Swim Good," "Strawberry Swing" and "Novacane" (the last of which is about falling in love with a girl at Coachella and recreational drug use). Odd Future ringleader Tyler, the Creator even joined Ocean onstage for one song, but it was clear to see who the real rising star was, even when sound problems threatened to cut the singer's set short.
