Empress Of's involvement in the soundtrack for Floria Sigismondi's The Turning late last year, and her contribution has now been revealed a week before the album's release.

"Call Me" was co-written by Empress Of's Lorely Rodriguez and soundtrack producers Yves and Lawrence Rothman.

"When writing the track with Lorely, Yves and I had the idea of writing something that was dreamy and processional; the movie's swan song," Lawrence explained in a statement. "It became a track that Floria Sigismondi used on set a lot to set the mood when shooting the scenes of the dreamlike limbo that the ghost Ms. Jessel is trapped in."
