The Mercury Prize honours the finest in British music each year, and the nominees for the coveted 2017 award have just been revealed.

Twitter-hating Game of Thrones guest star Ed Sheeran got a nod for this year's ÷, while other notable names on the list of nominees include alt-J, the xx, Sampha and Stormzy.

Kate Tempest, J Hus, Glass Animals, Blossoms, Dinosaur, Loyle Carner and the Big Moon round out the competition.
