During a surprise onstage appearance at Dave's show in Toronto this past May, Drake announced his intention to bring his signature event OVO Fest back to his hometown this summer. His latest announcement reveals some tweaked — but still pretty massive — plans for both 2022 and 2023.

In an Instagram post, Drake revealed that this summer's OVO Fest will be replaced by the three-night October World Weekend: Road to OVO Fest Tour. It kicks off with an "All Canadian North Stars" showcase on July 28 at Drake's very own venue History, with a currently unknown (but presumably Mary Brown's-approved) slate of performers, followed by two shows at OVO Fest's traditional venue of Budweiser Stage: Chris Brown and Lil Baby on July 29 (previously announced as part of the pair's One of Them Ones Tour) and Lil Wayne, Nicki Minaj and a Young Money reunion on August 1. There's no word yet on if — or, rather, when — Drake will be appearing.

Drake also acknowledged the event's mysterious subtitle in the caption of his Instagram post announcement, revealing his plans to take OVO Fest worldwide next year, writing, "I am currently working on bringing OVO FEST around the world in 2023 for the 10th Anniversary but of course we wanted to turn the city up for the summer!!!"

Drake first hosted OVO Fest in 2010, which means its 10th anniversary was technically in 2020. There have, however, been nine OVO Fests to date — one each year from 2010 to 2017, plus one in 2019 — which explains why this year's event gets a special name despite basically being OVO Fest.

No matter what he's calling it, October World Weekend is still bringing Drake's high-profile pals to Toronto for the August long weekend, and we can't wait. Plus, like OVO Fest proper, there are bound to be some surprises. And this year has been full of them for Drake, like when he surprise-released latest album Honestly, Nevermind, made surprise onstage appearances with Backstreet Boys and Dave in Toronto and Lil Baby in Montreal, and surprised HAIM in a Toronto restaurant. That guy just keeps us guessing.

Check out the full October World Weekend announcement below. Tickets go on sale this Friday (July 15).
