After teasing his return to the live stage this past March, Drake has now confirmed that his OVO Fest will return to action in 2022.

The Canadian icon made the announcement yesterday evening (May 12) alongside Mercury Prize-winning UK artist Dave, who brought him onstage as a special guest at History during the Toronto stop on his current North American tour.

"Toronto, please, like I said, this guy right here is one generational talent," Drake shared of Dave. "Whether he is rapping, pouring out his heart, whether he's turning all the way up, whether he's playing the piano, whether he's acting in our show, Top Boy, I promise you this guy right here is one of one – make some noise for Dave."

He continued: "I love you with all my heart. They let the city back open, so I will see you at OVO Fest soon."

Drake first launched OVO Fest in 2010, and it took place in Toronto over the civic holiday/Caribana weekend each year until 2017. While the label-branded event did not take place in 2018, it returned to Toronto in 2019 for its most recent edition.

Drake's OVO Fest performances are known to feature guest appearances by famous friends and contemporaries. OVO Fest 2019 saw Meek Mill, Rick Ross, Cardi B, Offset of Migos, Lil Baby, Gucci Mane, DaBaby, Tyga, YG, Popcaan, Megan Thee Stallion and Chris Brown share a stage with the 6ix God.

Appearing on SiriusXM this past March, Drake teased forthcoming "highly interactive" performances both in his home city of Toronto and in New York, sharing, "They're gonna be something different, something I've never done before."

Dave was recently announced as a headliner of Rolling Loud Toronto, the American hip-hop festival's inaugural Canadian event.
