Drake Cuts Michael Jackson-Featuring "Don't Matter to Me" from Setlist
He didn't perform his "Rock with You" cover either at the kickoff to his European tour
Published Mar 11, 2019Drake just embarked on his European "Assassination Vacation Tour" in Manchester last night (March 10), and he seems to have altered his setlist since last year's "Aubrey and the Three Migos Tour."
Despite both tours being in support of 2018's Scorpion, last night's kickoff in Manchester did not feature a performance of "Don't Matter to Me" — the track featuring the late Michael Jackson.
Last year's tour also included a cover of Jackson's "Rock with You" during almost every show.
The latest setlist saw Drizzy opting to open with "8 Out of 10" and close with "God's Plan" (just like on last year's North American tour), prompting many to speculate that the decision to cut Jackson from the setlist is related to the recently aired HBO documentary Leaving Neverland.
The documentary, which aired last week, details disturbing child abuse by the late singer, as told by alleged victims Wade Robson and James Safechuck.
Drake has yet to publicly comment on the allegations against Jackson, but it seems unlikely that his MJ collab will be reappearing on his upcoming tour dates.
Since the new documentary aired, some radio stations have removed Jackson's music from their playlists, while The Simpsons has pulled the episode featuring Jackson from future broadcasts.
