'The Simpsons' Pulls Michael Jackson Episode

The 1991 episode will no longer air

The Simpsons has pledged to remove an old episode featuring Michael Jackson from all future broadcasts.

The decision comes after a new HBO documentary called Leaving Neverland aired earlier this week, detailing allegations of child abuse by the singer.

Jackson appeared on an episode called "Stark Raving Dad" in 1991, in which he voiced the role of a psychiatric patient who thought he was the pop star.

The Simpsons executive producer James L. Brooks told the Wall Street Journal, "It feels clearly the only choice to make."

The Simpsons isn't the only media outlet to retrospectively block Jackson; Quebec radio stations removed the singer's music from their airwaves earlier this week, as well.
