Last month, Alex Zhang Hungtai released his instrumental Stateless LP, then promptly retired his Dirty Beaches moniker. Fortunately, he wasn't throwing in the towel on music altogether, as he's already back under a new banner.
As Stereogum reports, Hungtai has returned with two new tracks under the new name of Last Lizard.
The song "Dickie's Theme" is described on SoundCloud as "Tenor Saxophone and Tape Experiments," and was recorded in Lisbon, Portugal last month. The other song, billed as "Detroit (excerpt)," is simply listed as a "Last Lizard demo."
Listen to both abstract, instrumental tracks below, and stay tuned for more news on Last Lizard as it becomes available.
