Enlisting Dine Alone Records to release his first LP, Brampton-hailing hip-hop newcomer DEAR-GOD has teamed up with DoFlame to share "The Dungeon," the first song from the record expected sometime in 2023.
Produced by Lecx Stacey, the track finds the two Bramptonians thrashing out of the gate, melding hardcore, punk, hip-hop and industrial sounds with ease. The song chronicles the 22-year-old artist born Robert Ortiz and DoFlame's post-pandemic experiences in Los Angeles, meeting you "where you accept defeat and succumb to the world around you."
Said Ortiz, "It's about circumstances and reflection. Having to survive and watch your step in a capitalist dystopia where people are on the prowl to eat."
Ortiz released debut EP 1-844-4DEAR-GOD on Terrible Records in 2020. Stay tuned for more on his full-length debut, and check out the first preview in the player below.
