Daedelus Returns with Righteous Fists of Harmony

L.A.-based musician Alfred Darlington has been crafting adventurous, forward-thinking electronic music with his Daedelus moniker for nearly a decade. Showing no signs of slowing down, the artist has announced the details for his latest album, which follow up on 2008's Love To Make Music To.

Dubbed Righteous Fists of Harmony, the record will be the 11th from Daedelus, and not only will the album be musically forward-thinking, but according to a press release, it will also follow the story of the Chinese Boxer Rebellion.

Here's a thought-provoking excerpt from the press release:

Daedelus endeavors to compose a requiem for the end - of beliefs, of lives, and of an era. This elegy for a bygone battle sheds light on our own contemporary conundrum: will our faith in modernity be our downfall? Are we blinded by this age of wonders, doomed to be destroyed by our ingenious inventions? Although Daedelus' music has always juxtaposed organic and electronic elements, they war as never before on Righteous Fists of Harmony, a portrait of a tumultuous era that came crashing to a close.

The album is due out on March 23 via Flying Lotus's own Brainfeeder label. A preview for the album, featuring closing track "Fin De Siècle," can be streamed below.
