Courtney Love on Hole Reunion: "Nothing Might Happen"

BY Josiah HughesPublished Apr 7, 2014

Hole fans rejoiced last week when outspoken frontwoman Courtney Love revealed that she had reunited with her band's classic lineup. Over the weekend, however, she deflated some hopes in a new interview, where she said the reunion is still fairly tentative.

Speaking with the Telegraph, Love confirmed that she has indeed been working with bassist Melissa Auf Der Maur, founding guitarist Eric Erlandson and drummer Patty Schemel. However, she was quick to explain that the reunion is still in its very early stages.

"We may have made out but there is no talk of marriage," she said. "It's very frail, nothing might happen, and now the band are all flipping out with me."

Love also discussed her ambitions to release new music. "I can't just do a really good rock record and that's the end of it," she said. I can't be Nickelback. And not to be a bitch, I can't be the Foo Fighters."

What's more, she promised that the impending Nirvana musical is in very good hands. "It's more a play, conceived by a brilliant team," she said. "I can't name names, but when you hear who is possibly involved, it takes on a new dimension. Otherwise it's Vegas rubbish, and I will never allow it. There will be no jazz hands on 'Smells Like Teen Spirit!"

While we don't know what's happening with Hole just yet, Courtney Love has prepared a new single called "Wedding Day" that's tentatively set to drop this spring. She's also got a handful of UK tour dates, which are available below.
