Montreal-based art-rock ensemble Corridor are almost ready to reveal their debut LP Le Voyage Éternel, and Exclaim! is giving you a chance to hear it a week before it hits shelves.
Expressing themselves through "psychedelic airwaves and hallucinogenic performances," the band have crafted a sound that is both an homage to a trippier time and an experiment in modern indie rock. The songs exist in their own world, but invite listeners to join in the experience of what the band calls "the eternal voyage, or perhaps, parallel explorations, junctions between the spiritual and physical realms."
Jangly guitars, walloping basslines and buoyant drum beats provide the backing to cool, airy vocals, melding seamlessly on bright indie rock-esque tracks like "L'entrée du Portail," "Castor et Pollux" and "Plasma Fontaine." Songs like "L'écho des Derniers Orgasmes", "Abus D'habits" and "Passage Secret," meanwhile, show off the band's more adventurous, experimental side.
They all come together on Le Voyage Éternel to create a solid set of trip-inducing psychedelia, and you can experience it for yourself right now.
Le Voyage Éternel arrives on May 19 through REC-A. You can see the band's upcoming tour dates below, and scroll past them to give the new LP an early listen in the player below.
