If Drake is the 6 God, Clairmont The Second isn't getting in line to worship. Aligning himself instead with renaissance power players like Niccolò Machiavelli, the Toronto emcee/producer drew a line in the sand between himself and larger local hype machines at Wavelength's Valentine's gig.

Challenging his prescribed scene from a small indie rock stage on a weekend that saw seemingly every rapper available visiting Toronto for the celebrity shit-storm that was the NBA All-Star Weekend, Clairmont lead a treatise against hip-hop monoculture decked out in an OBGMs tee, preaching "rappers trying to be like Drake it's not working," with set opener "God Bless," and by the time it was all over he was in the pit getting down with the audience.

"There's a Tory Lanez concert going on today and the All-Star Game, but I wanna shout out you guys for being here right now."
