Chromatics have certainly had a busy year, what with their critically acclaimed North American tour and forthcoming European run of dates. Still, we can't help but wish they would deliver their long-awaited Dear Tommy album. And while we still don't have that , Chromatics have just given us an entire different new album called Closer to Grey.

An Apple Music link began making the rounds early this morning, pointing to a new Chromatics album called Closer to Grey being scheduled for release on Wednesday (October 2) via Italians Do It Better. Right now, though, it's already Wednesday overseas, where Closer to Grey is already out now.

For proof, you can stream previews of each track from Closer to Grey down below. And expect the album to arrive properly at midnight.

UPDATE (10/1, 12 a.m. EDT): You can now hear the entire Closer to Grey album down below.

As you'll hear, the album amazingly kicks off with a cover of Simon & Garfunkel's classic "The Sound of Silence" and is made up on 12 tracks. It marks the first album from Chromatics since their excellent 2012 effort Kill for Love, making Closer to Grey their first new album in seven years.

If you head to Chromatics' Instagram, you will see the band numbering their full-length albums in their Instagram Stories. Night Drive comes with a roman numeral IV, Kill for Love has a V, and Dear Tommy is labelled with a VI (even though it's yet to see release). And as you can see above, the Closer to Grey image has a VII.
