Taking place at Prince's Island Park from July 27 to 30, the 44th annual Calgary Folk Music Festival — powered by ATB — has revealed its full lineup details for 2023.
A total of 70 genre-diverse artists from Alberta, the rest of Canada and the world at large will be performing across multiple stages at the family-friendly four-day fest. Emmylou Harris, Andrew Bird, Matt Mays and Bahamas with Jeff Tweedy will headline, each closing out their respective night on the main stage.
The Sadies, Art Bergmann, the Weather Station, Pantayo, Julia Jacklin, Tanya Tucker, Aysanabee, Rich Aucoin, the Paper Kites, Aquakultre, Hurray for the Riff Raff, Ibeyi, Fantastic Negrito and many more will also perform.
On Friday afternoon and during the day on Saturday and Sunday, artists will unite for unique collaborations with in-the-round mash-ups. The festival also boasts all-site licensing, an artisan market, Family Zone, comedians and more.
"CFMF is one of Canada's flagship, trailblazing music festivals with a national and international profile and a broad, cutting-edge programming vision," the festival's Artistic Director Kerry Clarke said. "Where else can you hear the legendary Emmylou Harris back-to-back with the Digable Planets' groundbreaking hip hop? It's a festival of discovery with a very cool vibe, where you'll hear everything from new soul to cumbia, desert blues, hip hop, roots music, hypnotic electro-soul, vintage rhythm and blues, funk, vagabond singer-songwriters, spaghetti western, vintage pop, Celtic fusion, folk-noir, Afro Cuban, cosmic Americana and world fusion."
Early-bird weekend passes and single-day tickets are on sale now via the Calgary Folk website.
