Big Sean Is Full of Bees in the Video for "What a Life"

65,000 of them, to be exact

Like the cinematic masterpiece The Bee Movie before it, the bee music video — a.k.a. rapper Big Sean's new clip for "What a Life" – is an unexpected, honey-coated offering that inevitably sticks with you.

The track comes in collaboration with Hit-Boy, but let's be real: the bees in the Joe Weil-directed video are truly the sting of the whole operation.

In an Instagram post, Big Sean cleared up any potential the confusion over the amount of bees in question. Controversially, in the song's lyrics, he raps that his price is "100 B[ee?]s" — so, as Oprah might say, what is the truth?

"But it was really 65,000 🐝's on me," the artist clarified in the caption for some photos of him sitting outside on an armchair, covered in the swarm, presumably taken during the video shoot. "This not photoshopped neither," he assured us. "I HAD 65,000 Bee's [sic] on me… love to the 🐝 hive. I just ain't want y'all to think it was some damn effects or some shit 😂."

Well, that's certainly a lot of bees.

If a filter could help us recreate this risky look, we'd definitely include the photo in our Bumble profile.

Last year, Big Sean released his fifth solo album Detroit 2 and his debut Finally Famous celebrated its 10th anniversary this summer.
