After Post Malone was named global Record Store Day Ambassador for 2025 yesterday (January 22) — alongside launching his own flavour of Oreo, so it was a pretty big day for him — Record Store Day Canada has now announced that Big Wreck will serve as the Canadian ambassadors of this year's event, which will see their 2012 album Albatross released on vinyl for the first time.
"It's a great honour for Big Wreck to be Record Store Day Ambassadors," frontman Ian Thornley said in a statement. "We grew up going to record stores and building our vinyl collections and it means a lot to us to continue the tradition. It's especially exciting to be putting Albatross out into the world for the first time on vinyl. That record holds a special place."
Featuring previously unreleased bonus track "Fade Away," three new alternate takes and a live recording of the title track from the Suhr guitar factory, the deluxe anniversary edition of Albatross will be an RSD exclusive and limited to 2,500 copies. A deluxe CD version will also be available, limited to 1,000 copies.
Record Store Day is set to take place on April 12, and you can find the list of participating stores here. Check out the ambassador announcement video below, as well as the tracklist for the new edition of the album.
