BADBADNOTGOOD love a collaboration, and they especially love a collaboration with fellow Torontian Charlotte Day Wilson. The artists go way back, and today, we get a new taste of their combined low-key powers with "Sleeper."
The song is about as smooth, jazzy and understated as you'd expect, tucking Wilson's sleepy-eyed R&B in with flutes, silvery guitar and pattering percussion.
"'Sleeper' wrote itself…we were in the studio just messing around and the guys came up with the colourful instrumental while I freestyled the lyrics," Wilson said about the track. "The song portrays someone who chooses the path of least resistance and finds themselves in a lifeless, loveless relationship."
BADBADNOTGOOD's last album was 2021's Talk Memory, while Wilson released her debut album Alpha that same year.
