Canadian media juggernaut Marilyn Denis is ending her daytime TV reign this spring. CTV's The Marilyn Denis Show is closing up shop on June 9 with the Season 13 finale.
The host herself made the announcement on air today, telling the live studio audience in Toronto of her plans to retire from the show.
"We are live today because I have a very special announcement to make and it's going to be tough for me to make this," Denis said. "After 13 wonderful seasons, I've decided this is the last season of this show. And I want to be clear I'm not retiring and I'm very, very healthy. I'm going to be 65, that's true. But life is really, really good and I look forward to spending more time with my family."
She continued: "We have an unbelievable lineup of shows over the next couple of months including surprise guests — they're even a surprise to me — as we lead up to our last show."
That said, this is no retirement announcement; Denis will continue her tenure at CHUM 104.5 — where she's been an on-air host for 37 years — as co-host of Marilyn Denis & Jamar.
