With T.I. and his wife Tameka "Tiny" Harris already facing multiple allegations of sexual assault and abuse, the Los Angeles police department is now actively investigating the case.

The LAPD confirmed late Monday (May 17) that it was now looking into the allegations, which involves multiple women claiming that T.I. (born Clifford Harris) and his wife drugged, kidnapped and sexually assaulted them.

"There is an active investigation into Clifford Harris," officer William Cooper of the LAPD told Deadline.

But while the investigation into T.I.'s actions has been underway for several weeks, the officer would not confirm if Tiny Harris was also under investigation.

As previously reported on March 1, lawyer Tyrone A. Blackburn is representing 11 women who alleged they were victimized by the couple, with some accusing them of rape. Blackburn has since been urging for a criminal inquiry.

In response to the news of the LAPD investigation, T.I.'s lawyer Steve Sadow issued the following statement to Deadline: "The Harrises have not spoken to or been contacted by the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD), the Las Vegas Police Department (LVPD) or, indeed, any member of law enforcement from any other jurisdiction in the country."

As of press time, however, neither Blackburn nor T.I. himself has commented on the official investigation by the LAPD.
