In the midst of writing his memoirs and anticipating his Toronto Blue Jays' return to the field, Rush's Geddy Lee has revealed he will guest star in a forthcoming episode of Canadian drama Murdoch Mysteries.Today, the vocalist/bassist shared on Instagram — where he holds the fantastic handle @geddyimages — that he would appear in a forthcoming episode of the CBC program, set to air March 21 via the broadcaster and their streaming platform CBC Gem.
Fittingly, Lee's guest appearance will be on a music-themed episode. A summary reveals that in "Devil Music," the 21st episode of Murdoch Mysteries' fifth season, the detective played by Yannick Bisson "investigates the murder of a musician whose death was narrated in a blues song."
Lee's announcement came alongside a shot of himself on set, in costume, where he joked of a close friend in Primus, "#isthatmeorLesClaypool." His appearance on the show follows that of another Toronto-based special guest: Raptors head coach, noted record collector and musician Nick Nurse.
Lee's appearance on Murdoch Mysteries is a long time coming. As you'll see below, series star Bisson shared a sneaky snap of the Rush icon sitting across the aisle from him on a flight back in 2017. Now, they have a much nicer photo together.
Rush will treat their seminal album Moving Pictures to an expanded anniversary reissue next month. Lee's friend and bandmate Alex Lifeson also announced plans to auction some of his most iconic instruments.
