Tomorrow marks 41 years since Rush delivered their revered eighth studio LP Moving Pictures, and after some rare album shoot photos got the celebrations started last year, it has now been announced that the LP will get an expanded reissue.
The Moving Pictures 40th anniversary reissue arrives in Super Deluxe, 5-LP Deluxe, 3-CD and single LP editions on April 15.
The Super Deluxe package features the 2015 remastered edition of Moving Pictures for the first time on CD, and two discs of previously unreleased, newly restored live recordings from a Toronto, ON, concert from Maple Leaf Gardens, on March 25, 1981, mixed from the original analog multi-tracks by Rush producer Terry Brown.
All that audio is also spread across five 180-gram, half-speed, directed metal mastered vinyl LPs. An included Blu-ray Audio disc features Moving Pictures newly mixed from the original multi-tracks in Dolby Atmos — a first in the Rush catalogue — Dolby TrueHD 5.1, and DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 surround sound by producer/engineer Richard Chycki.
Also included is a 44-page hardcover book with new 40th anniversary artwork by Hugh Syme, and liner notes by Soundgarden's Kim Thayil, Les Claypool, Foo Fighter Taylor Hawkins, Mastodon's Bill Kelliher and Neil Sanderson of Three Days Grace.
Rounding out the set are collectibles like a Red Barchetta car, Neil Peart signature MP40 drumsticks, two metal guitar picks engraved with the signatures of Geddy Lee and Alex Lifeson, a 1981 Moving Pictures replica tour program, enamel pin, 3D lenticular lithograph, a 1981 Toronto concert poster, Toronto concert replica ticket, YYZ luggage tag, six printed lyric sheets originally hand-drawn by Neil Peart and more.

Certified four-times Platinum in Canada, Moving Pictures features Rush catalogue staples like "Limelight" and "Tom Sawyer," showcases the trio's instrumental prowess with "YYZ," and finds them playing with lengthier song structures on "The Camera Eye." Rush have previously given the massive 40th anniversary reissue treatment to their self-titled debut, A Farewell to Kings, Hemispheres and 2112.
In April, guitarist Alex Lifeson is set to release a new album with Envy of None.
