The original star of Saved by the Bell, Mark-Paul Gosselaar, has signed on to reprise his role as Zack Morris in an upcoming Saved by the Bell reboot.

The 45-year-old actor made the announcement during a Television Critics Association press event on Wednesday (January 8).

He also said that he believes Tiffani Thiessen, who played his onscreen love interest Kelly Kapowski, is currently in negotiations with NBC and will likely be involved in the reboot too.

"It looks like you will have us in some capacity," he assured fans.

Mario Lopez (who played A.C. Slater) and Elizabeth Berkley (who played Jessie Spano) previously announced that they would also star in the revival.

The latest incarnation of the beloved '90s show will be helmed by 30 Rock writer and Great News creator Tracey Wigfield.

The reboot will air on NBC's Peacock streaming service, which is set to launch in April 2020. A release date for Saved by the Bell has not been announced.

The cast of the original series got fans speculating about a potential revival last year, when they reunited for dinner.
