Back in March, it was reported that the role of Madonna in her upcoming biopic — directed by the pop icon herself and co-written with Juno screenwriter Diablo Cody — was one of the biggest hot-ticket roles in Hollywood.
A whole bunch of young stars were rumoured to have auditioned — Florence Pugh, Julia Garner and about half the cast of Euphoria — but it appears that Madonna has found her desired doppelgänger in Garner, who's reportedly been officially offered the role.
As reported by Variety, the Inventing Anna and Ozark actress apparently emerged as a frontrunner in the hunt for young Madonna, and is expected to accept the offer.
The film is set to be released by Universal Pictures, and will follow the early days of the oft-controversial icon and recent NFT artist.
