The long-awaited Futurama revival is finally due to have its premiere this summer, airing on Hulu — and presumably Disney+ in Canada — on July 24.
Original co-creators Matt Groening and David X. Cohen promise developments in Fry and Leela's love story, updates on the whereabouts of Kif and Amy's tadpoles, a pandemic storyline for some reason, and much more. According to Deadline, new episodes will be released weekly during Season 11. Season 12 has yet to get its release schedule.
As previously reported, the streamer has ordered a 20-episode revival, for which returning cast members Billy West, Katey Sagal, Tress MacNeille, Maurice LaMarche, Lauren Tom, Phil LaMarr and David Herman will reprise their roles.
Last year as negotiations began, John DiMaggio, who voices Bender, was the final hold-out, initially citing issues with pay and an industry that had become "too corporate." The actor later agreed to revive his role voicing the shiny metal badass, announcing in a statement that "#Bendergate is officially over."
