It's always a little odd when Halloween falls on a Monday. After all, most people hate to admit just how good they are at partying on a weeknight, so they end up celebrating the festivities on the weekend before.
This year, Halloween parties kicked off on Friday (October 28) and continued throughout the weekend. As such, social media has been flooded with some great costumes. (Or, in the case of Hilary Duff and her douchebag boyfriend, some not-so-great costumes.)
Here are some of the best costumes we've seen from our favourite musicians, actors and comedians so far this year.
Beyoncé, Tina Knowles and Blue Ivy Carter:
Beyoncé made Halloween a family affair this year, paying homage to Salt N Pepa with an inter-generational group costume. Bey was joined by her mom Tina Knowles and daughter Blue Ivy Carter in ridiculously fun, eye-popping costumes that were pretty much identical to those worn by the retro hip-hop trio.
Drake:
Rather than dress up as his current foes Meek Mill or Kid Cudi, Drizzy chose a rather esoteric costume. With some dad shoes, dumpy jeans and a grey wig, he dressed up as his lawyer 2 Dollar Steve.
Mac DeMarco and his posse:
For their performance at the comedy-themed Supreme Festival, Mac DeMarco, his band and his group of friends all dressed up like the iconic character MacGruber. Here, they're posted up with a clearly proud Will Forte. It's the sort of thing that makes you say "KFBR392."
Filter's Richard Patrick:
Donald Trump was not exactly the most unique costume choice of 2016, but Filter's Ryan Patrick took things one step further by utilizing a unique, customized hat. Did he make Halloween great again?
Katy Perry:
Of course, you can't have Trump without Hillary. Katy Perry repped the DNC with a bright red pantsuit and some seriously impressive makeup.
Mastodon's Brann Dailor:
Clowns are a touchy subject these days, which makes Brann Dailor's Halloween-themed family portrait all the more terrifying. There's so much going on in this photo that we can't stop staring at it.
Whoopi Goldberg:
Best Coast:
Best Coast's Bethany Cosentino and Bobb Bruno opted for unrelated but equally terrifying costumes, which they wore during a live show this weekend. Cosentino channelled her inner Korn frontman in a tracksuit and facial hair that would make Jonathan Davis proud, while Bruno busted out the frosted tips and flames for his Guy Fieri get-up. The concert listing may have read West Palm Beach, FL, but Best Coast clearly took their fans to Flavortown.
Kylie Jenner & Tyga:
Kylie Jenner and Tyga threw back to some iconic musical get-ups with their Halloween costumes. Jenner pulled off a masterful "Dirrty"-era Christina Aguilera, alongside her boyfriend Tyga, who went with an extremely patriotic Juelz Santana look.
Amy Schumer:
Amy Schumer had the same idea as the rest of the world, and went for the insanely popular Stranger Things theme this year. Donning a curly mop of hair, baseball cap and backpack, she made a pretty convincing Dustin. It was made even better thanks to a clip that captured her chasing after her pal Eleven on a bike.
Big Sean and Jhené Aiko:
Big Sean and Jhené Aiko teamed up to put out a joint album under the banner Twenty88 earlier this year, and they kept the couple-y collaborative spirit alive with their Halloween costumes. Outing their inner nerds, the duo drew inspiration from Star Wars for their look.
Taylor Swift:
Taylor Swift got the squad together to celebrate, choosing to don the unitard and mask of Deadpool for her own costume. Having Blake Lively as a pal clearly comes in handy at times like these, as the actress's hunky husband and Deadpool star Ryan Reynolds apparently hooked Swift up with the sweet (and presumably authentic) superhero suit.

Last year, the cast of The Today Show dressed up as the Peanuts gang with hellish results. Not to be outdone, last week the hosts of The View dressed up as their favourite cartoon characters. Now, our dreams will forever be haunted by Whoopi Goldberg's terrifying Marge Simpson get-up.Here is Whoopi Goldberg dresses as Marge Simpson.
