The lead role in Madonna's upcoming self-directed biopic is apparently the hot ticket for actresses of a certain age right now, but it turns out a different biopic has already locked down its Madonna — Evan Rachel Wood will be playing the pop legend in the upcoming "Weird Al" Yankovic biopic WEIRD: The Al Yankovic Story.
As reported by Rolling Stone, Wood has joined the cast alongside Daniel Radcliffe, who plays the parody music icon. One of Yankovic's most famous parodies is his take on Madonna's "Like a Virgin" — that's "Like a Surgeon," if you're somehow unaware — so it makes sense that Madonna would make an appearance in the film. You can see a first-look picture of Wood as '80s-era Madonna above.
Rainn Wilson will reportedly play radio host and "Weird Al" mentor Dr. Demento in the film, while Toby Huss and Julianne Nicholson will play Yankovic's parents.
WEIRD: The Al Yankovic Story is currently filming and is set to debut on The Roku Channel.
