Amazon Shares 'The Kids in the Hall' Reboot Trailer, Sets Premiere Date

"Well, the curse is lifted and the kids are back"

Twelve years later, the beloved sketch comedy series The Kids in the Hall will return with new episodes — and we have our first look at the Amazon Prime reboot in a newly shared trailer for the revival.

Mark your calendars, folks: the kids will officially be back in the hall on May 13. All five members of the original cast (Dave Foley, Bruce McCulloch, Kevin McDonald, Mark McKinney and Scott Thompson) will be present and accounted for.

The trailer sees the gang return from the actual grave, their bodies unmercifully having not been cryogenically frozen. "Well, the curse is lifted and the kids are back," a smug McKinney notes in an uncanny Lorne Michaels impression, before admitting that the return was being financed by the sort-of devil Amazon. Plenty of hijinks and wig-wearing ensues in the remainder of the one-minute, 22-second clip.

Now into their fifth decade together, the self-proclaimed kings of sketch comedy began filming the new eight-episode arc in Toronto last May, which is already evident in the trailer when a character threatens to crush a little-known local landmark.
