In 2013, the folks behind the popular music blog Weird Canada received a $50,000 FACTOR grant that they used to launch the Wyrd Distro online shop in 2014. Now, four years later, the site is shutting down.
In a Facebook post, Wyrd Distro confirmed its closure, adding that it will be gone for good on February 16.
Until then, its releases will be heavily discounted throughout the site. Take a gander here, and read Wyrd Distro's full statement below.
Further, the shop's closure will be marked with a celebration at Vinyl Envy in Victoria. The farewell show will feature performances from Sister Blanche, Tough Customer and Co-Op. Find more information on that event here.
