After making its world debut at Sundance earlier this year, We Are X is set to play at SXSW later this week. The film, which follows the trials and tribulations of the beloved "visual kei" rock band X Japan, now has its first official trailer.
We Are X was directed by Stephen Kijak, who has previously covered everything from obsessive cinephiles to the Backstreet Boys. Here, he focuses on the many physical and emotional ailments that have plagued X's Yoshiki over the years.
In our review, we said, "Long-time X fanatics will marvel at the storytelling and behind-the-scenes access, while newcomers will leave theatres with a new favourite band."
