Damon Albarn has memorialized De La Soul's Trugoy the Dove with a short piano loop.
Albarn — whose band Gorillaz are on the cover of Exclaim! — posted the tribute to his Instagram Reels earlier today (February 13), captioning the post, "A loop for Dave. I Love you." The nearly minute-long video show's the inside of Albarn's piano as he plays the quick arrangement.
Born David Jolicoeur, Trugoy the Dove died over the weekend at age 54. He and Albarn were frequent collaborators, notably on the 2005 Demon Days track "Feel Good Inc."
