Last month, Van Morrison revealed plans to destroy his once-great discography further with a series of right-wing COVID-19 truther songs. Today, he's released another with "No More Lockdown."
Despite the fact that the lyrics read like they were written by a shitty butt-metal band who perpetually play battle-of-the-bands showcases deep into their golden years, the song itself just sounds like a generic Van jam, as if Morrison is doing an impression of himself.
Then again, the lyrics do really distract from the music:
No more lockdown / No more government overreach / No more fascist bullies / Disturbing our peace / No more taking of our freedom / And our God given rights / Pretending it's for our safety / When it's really to enslave
If you are morbidly curious, you can listen to "No More Lockdown" below.
