Vagabon has returned with a new song. The artist born Lætitia Tamko has shared "Carpenter," which you can hear alongside a lyric video in the player below.
Co-produced with Rostam, the propulsive "Carpenter" is, in Tamko's words, "about that humbling feeling when you desperately want to be knowledgeable, you want to be advanced, you want to be mature, forward thinking, and evolved.
"It's about being confronted with your limitations It's about that A-HA moment, when a lesson from the past finally clicks and you want to run and tell someone who bore witness to the old you, 'I finally get it now.'"
A press release notes that Tamko is currently at work on a new Vagabon album, expected to arrive this year via Nonesuch.
While it will mark Tamko's first LP as Vagabon since 2019's acclaimed self-titled release, it isn't as if she's been silent. In the time since, Tamko has worked with former tourmate Courtney Barnett, Sharon Van Etten, Monako and Miloe, and had music placed in 2020 films Antebellum and The Turning.
In March, Vagabon will join Weyes Blood for a Western swing on her North American tour, including a lone Canadian stop in Vancouver.
