Exaggerated gestures of metallic clamour on an immense German festival stage interrupted by episodes of self-mocking, low-brow "behind the scenes antics what else could it be but Type O Negatives first live concert DVD? These themes carry over into some equally nonsensical interview footage and "tongue in cheek (and barely coherent) commentary. The concert is from 99, so the tracks are practically vintage, but not nearly so much as the childhood photos (see Peter Steele in a prom tux!). For all its ribaldry, Symphony for the Devil is a well-orchestrated companion piece to Type Os earlier video, After Dark, easily capturing the irreverence in the bands attitude and music.
