Tool Announce Less Deluxe, More Affordable 'Fear Inoculum' Vinyl Release

BY Calum SlingerlandPublished Jun 27, 2022

For all the criticism Tool received after releasing their $810 signed, tour-exclusive Fear Inoculum vinyl and slightly less pricy, unsigned retail edition earlier this year, we should have seen this coming: the band have treated the album to a more basic vinyl release.

Tool will now deliver their fifth studio LP as a three-disc, 180-gram vinyl release on August 5 via RCA. The album is split across three vinyl discs (complete with etched F side) which come housed in a triple gatefold jacket, complete with new artwork and a double-sided poster.

Gone are the elaborate etched, single-sided records, mirror-board printed hardcover book and matching slipcase of the initial "ultra-deluxe" offering, and as a result, the price feels more of a match. At present, the set is available for pre-order via Tool's website for $64.98 USD.
