Earlier this week, Tool announced an ultra-deluxe vinyl pressing of their 2019 album Fear Inoculum, available for the ultra-deluxe price of $810 USD (or, $1,030 CAD).
That price obviously pissed off fans who don't buy a new car every time their old one gets dirty, but it seems the band has heard the criticism: according to a recent Reddit thread, Tool has apparently lowered the price tag to a thrifty $750 USD. If you're down to forget about groceries for a few weeks, run, don't walk, to nab this steal of a deal.
In other Tool news, the band has just announced a deluxe reissue of their 1992 debut EP Opiate. According to a press release, Opiate2 will feature "a re-imagined and extended version of the EP's title track and an accompanying short film." Visual artist Dominic Hailstone worked with the band on the 10-minute short film, which will be the first Tool music video in 15 years.
Opiate2 is out March 1 on RCA, with a physical edition arriving March 18. The physical version of Opiate2 will include a Blu-ray and a 46-page book, so it'll probably be pretty pricey. Start saving now.
