The Menzingers Announce New Album 'Some of It Was True,' Share Single

Scranton, PA's punk champions, the Menzingers, have announced the release of a new studio album, led by new single "Hope Is a Dangerous Little Thing."

Some of It Was True reveals its (non-)fictions on October 13 via Epitaph Records. Recorded at the Sonic Ranch in El Paso with producer Brad Cook (Megafaun), it follows the band's 2019 LP, Hello Exile, and 2020's subsequent From Exile.

"Written over the last two and a half years in hotels, backstages, basements, and rehearsal rooms and recorded during a life-changing retreat down south, Some of It Was True is the most realized version of what we set out to do when we started this band 17 years ago — have fun and be ourselves," frontman Greg Barnett explained in a statement.

The collection includes recent single "There's No Place in This World for Me," as well as latest preview "Hope Is a Dangerous Little Thing." By title alone, there feels like some subtle Lana Del Rey worship going on with the latter... but maybe the emo quartet are just really into ponchos. Sonically, it's classic Menzingers: a driving, knotty knit of angst with a perfect singalong hook.
